Ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 season opening game between Walsall and visitors Oldham Athletic, Latics boss Darren Kelly has spoken to his club's official website and has discussed his hopes of picking up a win over the Saddlers.
Speaking to OldhamAthletic.co.uk, Kelly said; "If we make sure we keep our squad injury free that will be a big help to us. There is no reason why we can’t aim for the top six.
"We want to start well. We didn’t start well last season but we went on a run after that. We don’t want to start slowly and build our way into it, we want to start fast and hit the ground running with a result against Walsall on Saturday.
“Coming up to the opening game of the season, if we perform like we know we can perform, we have got every chance of getting a result but they are a good team and they did finish strongly last year so it’s a game we are looking forward to.”
