The Saddlers were on the right end of a seven-goal thriller with Nottingham Forest to progress into the next round whilst Chris Hughton's men saw off Sky Bet League 1 side Southend United to set up a tie at the Banks's.
The last meeting between the two sides at the Banks's was back in April 2011. Goals from Inigo Calderon, Glenn Murray and Elliott Bennett helped the Seagulls to record a 3-1 win, with Emmanuel Ledesma dismissed with ten minutes of the game remaining.
Our last win over the Championship side came at the Withdean Stadium in 2009. An Andrew Whing own goal was enough to give the Saddlers an opening day win on a hot August afternoon.
Saddlers fans of the 90's will have fond memories of our emphatic 5-0 victory over Brighton in the Football League Trophy. On 6th January 1998, the Bescot witnessed a Roger Boli brace help fire the home side to victory with Dean Keates, Andy Watson and a Derek Allan own goal completing the rout.
Ticket information for our Capital One Cup fixture will be released at a later date.
