Earlier this year Walsall supporter Graeme Brookes embarked on a 138 mile walk from 'Walsall to Wembley' in aid of the Walsall Society for the Blind and in memory of his grandfather Ronald.

The walk, which ended at the national stadium on Sunday, 22nd March, just in time for the Saddlers' first ever trip to Wembley Stadium for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final, raised an impressive £7,600 for the much-used charity.

Late last week Graeme met with members of the Society and handed over the much-needed money, to the delight of 'WSFTB' chief-executive Amanda Reed, who spoke to the Walsall Advertiser, and paid tribute to Graeme, she said; "To put himself through such a momentous task was incredible. He didn't give up despite the difficulties he faced because right there in the back of his mind was his granddad.

"It was also all his own doing. The funds will be used to help us provide even more information, support and friendship to all visually impaired people, which means that no one will face their sight loss journey alone. We just can't thank Graeme enough for what he's done."
