Former Doncaster Rovers defender Liam Wakefield has been named amongst the Walsall Football Club starting XI for their pre-season clash with near-rivals Aston Villa,
21-year-old Wakefield, who also started last week's Saddlers' pre-season clash with Rushall Olympic, is a product of the Doncaster Rovers academy and signed pro-terms in 2012.
Liam made just ten first-team appearances for Rovers, and has also enjoyed a loan spell with Bradford Park Avenue.
