Speaking via Instagram, James said; "As my retirement from Professional Football was made official earlier today I would like to take this chance to express my gratitude first and foremost to God, for blessing me with this amazing opportunity to be a part of 'the beautiful game'. I would like to thank my family and friends for their support and encouragement over the years which has meant so much to me. I have met some truly great people on this journey and played alongside some great players too.
"I consider it a privilege to have represented West Bromwich Albion, Watford, Cardiff City, Leicester City, Doncaster Rovers, Hereford United and Walsall during a career I have thoroughly enjoyed. A big thank you to the fans of the clubs mentioned above for all your support and interaction which added to the experience.
