Walsall Football Club are understood to have taken former Leeds United defender Zac Thompson on trial, following his release earlier in the summer.
Born in Wigan, Greater Manchester, Thompson, who can play both in midfield and defence, began his career as an apprentice with Premier League outfit Everton but signed his first professional contract with Leeds United, in 2011.
Over the next four years 22-year-old Zac went on to make around ten first-team appearances for the the Whites, and enjoyed a successful loan spell with Bury, where he went on to make almost thirty first-team appearances.
