Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to have rekindled their interest in Nottingham Forest's former Walsall winger Jamie Paterson following the news that Burnley had lodged an undisclosed bid earlier this week.
The Express & Star report that Wolves are keen to replace the soon-to-be departing Bakary Sako, with Pato ranking high on their list of targets.
Paterson moved to the City Ground in July 2013 after three successful years at the Banks’s Stadium, particularly in 2012/13 when he netted twelve goals in 46 league games.
That form initially continued at Forest but he found himself frozen out of the team last year, starting just four league matches. He has scored 13 goals in 64 appearances for Forest and has a year remaining on his contract.
Walsall are said to have a stake in any future transfer with 15% of the fee believed to be heading their way upon completion.
