Daniel Mole Appointed to Board of Directors

Walsall Football Club have today appointed Club Secretary, Daniel Mole, onto the Board of Directors.
Walsall Football Club have today appointed Club Secretary, Daniel Mole, onto the Board of Directors.

The 35 year-old first arrived at the club back in 2002 as part of the Media Department before becoming Assistant Club Secretary in 2009 and then taking over as Club Secretary for the 2010/11 season following the retirement of Roy Whalley.

As a hard-working and dedicated member of staff, his presence at Boardroom level will strengthen the club going forward.

Club Chairman Jeff Bonser spoke to Saddlers.co.uk about today's news,and said; "Dan has been an integral part of Walsall FC for many years having progressed through the ranks.He has a great understanding of the inner workings of the club and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge of the football industry as a whole over the last 13 years.

"The time is now right for him to make the step up to Board Level and he will be an invaluable acquisition to the club as a Director. I would like to wish him every success in this new and deserved role.”

Daniel Mole also spoke to Saddlers.co.uk about the news, he said; "It is an absolute honour to have been asked to join the Board of Directors at Walsall Football Club. I attended my first game almost 25 years ago and will have worked at the club for 13 years this summer. I have loved every minute and, at 35, feel I have a lot more to give.

"It is the proudest day of my professional career and I would like to thank the rest of the Board for their support. In particular I would like to thank Jeff Bonser for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to progress; Roy Whalley for his mentoring and support and Stefan Gamble for his encouragement and backing.

“I would also like to thank all the staff and supporters for making my time at Walsall Football Club such a pleasure.

"I became a father for the second time last week as my wife, Emma, gave birth to a little boy, Alfie, to join our daughter, Daisy-Hope, so it's not been a bad seven days!

"I am looking forward to contributing fully in my new role and ensuring that the good work taking place both on and off-the-field continues. We have a club to be proud of and an identity and ethos that we all believe in. This is a wonderful football club and one I am proud to be a part of."
