Earlier today Walsall Football Club's Under 18s side played host to Wrexham Under 18s in the latest Football League Youth Alliance (North West) fixture of the season.
The young Saddlers, who sat seventh in the league table ahead if kick-off, arrived at the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town, the reds spent much of the game peppering the Cod Army with shots goal but to no avail.
Eleventh placed Wrexham arrived at the game on the back of a long break, having not played a league game for several weeks.
Today's match was a competitive affair with both sides having good goal-scoring opportunities throughout the first-half, however neither 'keeper was beaten and they reached the break all-square at 0-0.
The second half was similar to the first, neither side was able to grab that all-important goal but both managers will be buoyed by their defensive solidity as they look to secure their prospects for next season.
