Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's website ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash withe Fleetwood Town, and has praised versatile defender James O'Connor, who has entered a good spell of form since being left out of the Saddlers' Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final defeat to Bristol City last month.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "Jim has been superb in our last three games. He's a great competitor and a fantastic professional who has responded in exactly the right way to missing out at Wembley.
"He's showed determination, character and a tremendous attitude to become one of our best players in recent games.
"Both he and James Chambers are committed and talented defenders who have played their part in our consecutive clean sheets over the Easter weekend."
