Walsall manager Dean Smith spoke to the club's official website following Tuesday evening's Sky Bet League 1 victory over Yeovil Town, and has praised his side for their overall performance insisting that it would have been a travesty if the Saddlers hadn't taken all three points.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; “We were excellent in the first half. Some of our play was outstanding during the opening period and we should have been out of sight at the break.
“We knew it would be different in the second half and they had chances, but we got the three points in the end and that’s all that mattered.
“Both ‘keepers had saves to make and it would have been a travesty had we not taken home all three points.

“We had plenty of shots on target and kept a clean sheet, which was pleasing. It was one of those days where the ball didn't go in the back of the net as often as it should, but it was a good performance on a fantastic surface.
“We popped the ball around really well and now we look to the next game and building on this result.”
