Walsall Football Club's versatile left-back Andy Taylor has spoken to the club's official website ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Barnsley, and has insisted that the team is ready to take on the Tykes and build on the midweek win over Yeovil.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Taylor said; "Looking back, it was a strange game. The main thing was that we came out of it with a win.
"We were happy with the performance as a team; there are a few things that we need to tighten up, but the three points was the most important thing.
"We created plenty of chances and we know that the game should have been dead-and-buried by half-time. If we can start taking our chances then that will put the pressure on the opposition.
"Our focus now turns to Barnsley and we come up against a team in form. They have a new manager in charge and it is never an easy place to go. We need to stifle them and their fans and put our own impact on the game.
"The four teams at the top have created a bit of a gap and then you've got Sheffield United who are going to be in there too, so it's any number of teams fighting for that one remaining top six place. We are very much part of that group, but all we can do is look at one game at a time.
"Things can change so quickly, but all we can do is affect our next performance.
"We're proud of our away form and we know that if we are to push for the play-offs we have to maintain this as well as push on at home.
"We approach every game in the same manner and will be looking to bring home a winning result from Barnsley at the weekend."
