
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Richard said; "The conditions are best described as horrendous. There were high winds, hail and driving rain, but credit to both teams as they gave it a real go. We were a little disjointed in the first half, but were dogged and battled away.
"There was a real improvement in our play after the break and we deservedly took the lead following a well-worked team goal which Amadou finished with aplomb on 54 minutes as he latched onto a fine cross from Jamie Smith.
"We continued to do well with and without the ball and created a number of opportunities before Vale equalised with a scrappy goal and that's how the scoreline remained."
