The former Slade front-man told the Walsall Advertiser that he wants Walsall Town Hall to be transformed into a top music venue in the West Midlands. It comes as the glam rocker will be hosting a 60s Mania event at the Lichfield Street landmark to raise cash for the Mayor of Walsall's chosen charities.
The concert will be a poignant event for Noddy, as it will also mark 50 years to the day since he performed at the same venue with Steve Brett & The Mavericks.
Councillor Pete Smith, Mayor of Walsall, has backed Noddy's call for residents' to support the event – and agreed that there was an opportunity for the Town Hall to become the go-to venue for music fans.
The event will be held this Friday, 27th March, and will feature two 60s tribute acts, The Born Again Beatles and a 'British Invasion' tribute act, with support from Q4, Regale, and as seen on The Voice, Misternothing with Mitchel Elms and The Rooz with Louis Coupe.
A raffle will also be held, with prizes including two tickets to see Elton John at Banks's Stadium, a signed portrait of Noddy himself and a family ticket to Drayton Manor.
Doors open at 6.30pm, as will the bar, with the concert's first act going on stage at 7.30pm with The Born Again Beatles appearing later in the evening.
Tickets are £10, with all proceeds after costs going to the Mayor's Charity Appeal beneficiaries – MS Black Country branch, Macmillan Walsall Branch, Walsall Heartcare and Bloxwich Community Partnership.
Tickets are on sale from Walsall Town Hall Box Office and can be purchased by calling 0845 111 2900 (option one) or visiting the Council House in Lichfield Street from 10am to noon and 2pm to 4pm.
