Earlier today Walsall Football Club's Under 18s travelled North to take on Wigan Athletic Under 18s in the latest Football League Youth Alliance (North West) fixture of the season.
Walsall arrived at the game in fourth position having won eleven, drawn three and lost five of their nineteen league games.
The Saddlers were held to a nil-nil draw by Carlisle United U18s during their most recent outing last weekend.
Wigan Athletic, who drew one-all with Wrexham during their most recent league match arrived in second place having won thirteen, drawn four and lost just three of their twenty games.
The Latics sat just four points off the top of the table, which is currently housing unlikely leaders, Bury.
The match, which took place at the Robin Park Arena and Sports Centre in Wigan, kicked off at 12:15pm.
The scoring was opened by Wigan's young defender Sean Harrison after 35 minutes of play, this proved to be enough to secure the win for the hosts during a competitive match, as the Saddlers fell further behind the league leaders, but do have some games in hand.
