Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Doncaster Rovers, and has offered a brief update on the fitness of top-scorer, Tom Bradshaw.

Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; “Tom has got a little bit of a strain but it's not on the actual muscle – that’s the positive news - it's on the fascia which is the membrane of the muscle.

“It's similar to what he's had before but on a different leg so he will probably be out for ten days to two weeks."

"Watching the game back we actually can't see the incident where he's done it so that's why it's more puzzling.

"He's been doing his strengthening and a lot of injury prevention work but with the amount of games we've had - and probably the psychological aspect of the games because they've been big occasions – it takes a lot out of the body.

"What's a positive for Tom is that the Preston game has been moved back a week so that will obviously give him a chance to get back and he will miss fewer games.”
