Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website ahead of this evening's Sky Bet League 1 trip to Preston North End, and has insisted that his side go into the game full of confidence following Saturday's hard earned point away to Bradford City.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "We go into the game full of confidence having extended our unbeaten away League run at Bradford City on Saturday.
"The lads rolled their sleeves up and worked extremely hard to secure a good point at the weekend in tough conditions. It was probably a fair result in the end as both teams tried their hardest to win the game.
"For me, the run-in has started now; there are a lot of games coming up and they certainly don't get any easier!
"That said, we've got good players here and a tremendous team spirit and work ethic. There is enough quality to see us through and with key players such as Anthony Forde, James Chambers and Tom Bradshaw returning to fitness, we've got options and good competition.
"We know all about Preston North End having played them three times already this season, but by the same token, they know all about us. We will give them the respect that they deserve, but we will go there looking to get a win.
"It's a game we are looking forward to at a nice stadium and on a big pitch. We did well on our last visit and hopefully we will do the same this time around.
"The support that we received at Bradford was excellent once again and more of the same is going to be required at Deepdale on Tuesday."
