Earlier today, Walsall Football Club's Reserves side made the short trip to the Shrewsbury Sports Village to take on Shrewsbury Town Reserves in the latest Final Third Development League (West) fixture of the season, following the game Reserves manager Richard O'Kelly spoke to the club's official website about the close affair.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Richard said; "It was a good performance and an excellent game of football. They were younger than us, but their attitude was fantastic and it was just the kind of game we needed.
"The attitude of our lads was very pleasing; we had to work hard and show different sides of our game against organised and competitive opponents.

"I thought that Rico Henry looked lively and bright on the ball, particularly in the first half, whilst Reece Flanagan got both of our goals and did well. We had David Atkinson in on trial and he did what we expected.
"It was a good team performance, just the sort of challenge our boys were looking for. The tackles were flying in and from a tactical and technical point of view it was a good exercise. Both teams deserve credit for this."
