Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Bradford City, and has offered another update on the status of injured midfielder, Sam Mantom.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “He knows now that if he feels a pain that he’s just got to get on with it because we've been inside his knee and there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with it. He’s in a better place for that now because he knows if he feels it we can’t do anything else with it.
“We’ve had a few timescales that have kept going backwards, so there’s no timescale. He’s just got to tell us when he’s ready to start training and then joining in games, and we’ve certainly got enough of them to come.
“I’m sure he’s got his eye on a Wembley appearance of some sort.”
