As revealed during Thursday evening's 'Fans Focus' meeting Walsall Football Club chief executive Stefan Gamble has confirmed that the club have opened contract negotiations with several of their soon to be out-of-contract stars with a view to agree terms on a new deal.
Stefan Gamble spoke to the Express & Star about contract negotiations, he said: “I had a meeting with Dean Smith at 4pm yesterday and that (contracts) was the top item on the agenda. We’ve been talking about it for a few weeks and we are working on it.”
First choice goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell, and Vice-Captain Paul Downing are said to be first in line for new deals.
