On Saturday afternoon Walsall Football Club will travel to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Doncaster Rovers in the latest Sky Bet League 1 fixture of the season.
In terms of head-to-head, of the fifty-seven previous meetings, it's Walsall that hold the advantage with twenty-seven wins to Rovers' twenty-one. There have also been nine draws during the fixtures history.
Their first encounter took place on 19th January 1924, with the match ending 3-0 to Doncaster at their then home of Belle Vue.
The Saddlers made quick their revenge; by defeating Rovers 5-2 at Fellows Park, just a week later.
In more recent times, Walsall have won three drawn one and lost one of the last five meetings, their most recent encounter taking place at Banks's Stadium on Saturday 27th September 2014, the Saddlers' winning the match by three goals to nil, James Baxendale, Tom Bradshaw and Anthony Forde grabbing the goals as the visitors failed to hit the back of the net.
