Walsall Football Club manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Port Vale, and has insisted that if the Saddlers play as well as they did on Tuesday they will have every chance of securing three-points against the Valiants.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "It will be a tough game. Port Vale are a well-organised side and in Rob Page they have someone at the helm with the right credentials to be a good manager.
"They have some talented players in their side and are sure to bring a good, vocal following with them, so it has all the ingredients to be an entertaining game.
"It will be about concentrating on ourselves and what we do. If we reach the standards that we were able to achieve during the first half of Tuesday’s game, we will give ourselves every chance of achieving a winning result.
"The opportunity is there to build some momentum. The fans will be behind us and hopefully we’ll get another three points.
"This is such a tight League with a lot of teams still fighting for a place in the play-offs, including Port Vale.
"It will be interesting to see how they approach this game. As I say, it’s about what we do and ensuring that our preparation is right.
"We know that Vale are a competitive team and we will have to be at our best to beat them, as is the case in every game.
"It’s such an open League and there is something on every game. Thank you for your valued support."
