Walsall Football Club Captain Adam Chambers has spoken to the club's official website following Tuesday evening's Sky Bet League 1 defeat to Preston North End, and has admitted that the team did not reach the standards required.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Adam said; “We know that we were not good enough in the first half. We felt hard done by with the goal but showed what we are about after the break and played to the standards that we know we are capable of.
“To be fair, we found it hard to get time on the ball in the first half. They had a game plan, and credit to them, but we moved it around a lot better in the second half.
“It’s about being able to start games better. There was a lot more tempo to our play after the break; we broke lines and finished strongly as they tired towards the end.
“The lads are disappointed, of course, but we will dust ourselves off and be ready to go again on Saturday.
“We want to get our home form right and whilst we know it will be tough against a Leyton Orient side who are starting to find some form, we are looking forward to it.”
