Walsall left-back Andy Taylor has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Colchester United, and has looked back to last weekend's home defeat to Scunthorpe United, insisting the team have to make more of their goal scoring opportunities.
Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Taylor said; "You can't concede goals like the ones we conceded against Scunthorpe, you can't give teams leg-ups like we did. It was a very frustrating day and I just think it showed our lack of consistency at the minute.
"The defensive errors are something that we're going to have to address because they are very disappointing.
"All season we've looked incredibly solid and the last few weeks or so we've been a lot looser. Not just conceding goals but conceding chances.
"There's nothing I can put a finger on but it is something that we are going to have to work on. We want to be organised and hard to beat and that's something that we have to get back to.
"The poor defending is something we've got to stamp out but what we've also got to do better is take our chances when they come along.
"If we had scored any of our chances in the first 25 minutes against Scunthorpe, we would have gone on and won the game comfortably.
"We've got to be more clinical, that's for sure. Swindon were very clinical against us and that's why they are where they are in the league."
