Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this week's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area Final First Leg clash with Preston North End, and has insisted that if he feels the squad needs strengthening in January, he can.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “If we require players then we can bring them in but, at the moment, I’ve got almost a fully-fit squad.
“Plus I’ve got four young lads – Amadou Bakayoko, Jordan Murphy, Jake Heath and Liam Roberts – out on loan at the moment who are getting valuable experience, but could come back.
“Jordan Cook was missing on Saturday but he will be back soon and Sam Mantom will be back by the end of January. So we’ve already got two really good players there to come back.”
