Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Colchester United, and has looked to move on from last weekend's disappointing 4-1 home defeat to Scunthorpe United.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "We take on a Colchester United side who go into the game on the back of a good result at Peterborough United in their last game. They have gone with a more youthful line-up this season and I expect them to go into the game with their confidence high.
"Based on our recent performances on the road, we will also approach the game with confidence. We know that we've fallen below the standards that we have set ourselves at home over the last three games, but on our travels we have been in good form, and hopefully this can continue at the weekend.
"We go into every game targetting three points and Saturday will be no different; we will go there and play our usual game.
"It's a case of taking last Saturday's result on the chin; I don't want to dwell on it too much but our defending let us down and it is something that we have been working on in training this week."
