Walsall Football Club's first-choice goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell has spoken to the press following Tuesday evening's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Preston North End, where the Saddlers booked their place at the Wembley final, defeating the Lilywhites over two legs, and has praised the team-spirit in the dressing room.

Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Richard said; “It was a really good performance under a lot of pressure. I was limited to not making any saves until the last minute which is credit to the lads. We held firm and luckily I did enough at the end.

“The lads were brilliant on the night. It was great in the dressing room afterwards, we were all buzzing.

“The team spirit has been there all season, through the ups and downs we’ve always stuck together and that showed again tonight.”
