Negotiations between Walsall Football Club and Leicester City for an extension to 20-year-old midfielder Michael Cain's loan agreement are still ongoing, with an deal believed to be close to completion.
Michael joined Walsall in early October 2014, and after spending a period of time training with the squad agreed to a one month loan deal later in the month.
Luton-born Cain went on to put in several solid performances for the Saddlers, which convinced manager Dean Smith to extend the deal for another thirty-days November, and then again in December.
He continued to impress whilst at the club, including scoring the first league goal of his professional career, during the 1-4 defeat to Scunthorpe United. He scored his second league goal during last weekend's 2-0 win over Colchester United.
Walsall are now seeking to extend Michael's loan, which expired after last weekend's victory over Colchester United, for the remainder of the season.
