Walsall Football Club left-back Andy Taylor spoke to the press following last weekend's Sky Bet League One draw with near-rivals Coventry City, and has insisted that it is time to start looking up the table, not down.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Taylor said; “As a squad, we weren’t worried, which is the main thing. We were always confident.
“At that stage, we didn’t have the points on the board that the performances deserved but we knew eventually they would start coming.
“At the time we had quite a few lads out injured and obviously a lot of them are back fit now – and Bradders coming back soon will give us a boost as well.
“So it’s looking good at the minute and this league is about consistency.
“If you can put a consistent run of results together, as we have done recently, and stay unbeaten for a decent period of time, you will climb the table, it’s inevitable.
“I think the more you can have a consistent back five – and obviously there have been a few ins and outs this season – it is advantageous because you build up relationships and an understanding. We pride ourselves on our organisation and team shape starting from the front so the plaudits are brilliant but we take them as a team, not just as a back four or five.”
