Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 draw with Sheffield United, and has praised his side for a resilient display.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "The result was better than the performance. We were wasteful at times but they are a good team with good players.
“We’ve displayed the resilient side of our game; it took them to score to kick-start us, but it was great build-up play for our goal and it revitalised us.
“Once again we were defensively outstanding; the result keeps our run going and to come away from here with any kind of result is pleasing.
“We worked hard out there and there’s a confidence about us now. All the lads want to take responsibility and are thriving on it.”
