Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website ahead of tomorrow's Johnstone's paint Trophy Northern Area Semi-Final clash with Tranmere Rovers, and has insisted that they will not be taking their Sky Bet League Two opposition lightly.

Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "The lads have looked extremely bright in training and now we are looking forward to getting back into action at Tranmere as we return to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy trail.

"We've had a couple of tough ties already in this competition at Rochdale and at home against Sheffield United, so we certainly won't be taking this one lightly.

"At this stage of the competition, you can see what is ahead of you and we will be concentrating on the task in hand to ensure that we can continue our progress.

"Richard O'Kelly watched Tranmere in action at the weekend and with Micky Adams at the helm, his experience and know-how is starting to turn things around for them.

"We know enough about them to realise that it will be a tough tie for us; they will set up right and we are going to have to be at it from the very first whistle.

"Apart from the FA Cup replay at Shrewsbury, our recent form has been good and the level of performance has been high.

"We look forward to receiving your support at Prenton Park and thank those of you who will be making the trip up north for the game."
