Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the local press as he continues his preparations for this weekend's Sky Bet League One trip to Coventry City, and has discussed the recent performances of attacking midfielder Romaine Sawyers.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “He didn't have his best game against Shrewsbury by his standards and he knew that. But he was very important at Fleetwood.
“Romaine is a terrific footballer and we know he let his level drop at Shrewsbury. It was unlike him but I spoke to him in the week and he’s bounced back really well.
“The only thing he needs more of is goals and he got one on Saturday.”
