Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website ahead of tonight's FA Cup First Round Replay against near rivals Shrewsbury Town, and has discussed his side's dominant performance against Peterborough United last weekend.
Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "The games are certainly coming thick and fast at the moment and it’s another tough one this evening as we look to make FA Cup progress at the expense of Shrewsbury Town.
"They proved to be difficult opposition at our place in the original tie and we know that it will be equally as tough tonight, but we go there with plenty of belief and determination to extend our current unbeaten run and make it into the second round.
"We'll continue to work hard and do the right things. I thought we were excellent against Peterborough on Saturday and the only thing missing was a goal to win us the game.
"To be so dominant against a side like Peterborough is extremely encouraging; we defended well when we had to and got into some good positions to create numerous chances.
"This evening’s game also has the added spice of it being a local derby, so we are excited by match in prospect and I would like to think that we will have a large and vocal following who will back us all the way."
