Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this afternoon's Sky Bet League One trip to face Coventry City, and briefly discussed the state of the pitch at City's Ricoh Arena.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith, who may leave top scorer Tom Bradshaw and midfielder Sam Mantom out as a precaution, regardless of fitness, said; "Nothing can be left to chance and, knowing the pitch at the Ricoh, that has to come into consideration as well.
“It wasn’t great the last couple of games I saw and they will have the rugby on there soon, so it will take a bit of a beating."
