Walsall Football Club player-coach Dean Holden is rumoured to be in talks with Oldham Athletic over a switch to the Greater Manchester side.
Reports on BBC Radio Manchester suggest 35-year-old Holden is in line to join the club as Latics; manager Lee Johnson continues his search for a new first-team coach, following Paul Murray's recent departure to Hartlepool United.
Swinton-born Holden, who is part of the Saddlers' development squad coaching team, previously played for Oldham between 2001 and 2005, making over 125 first-team appearances for the club. He and Johnson also briefly played together at Chesterfield in 2011.
Dean went on to join the Saddlers in 2012, becoming player/coach at the start of the 2013/14 season.
