The 'Emergency Loan Window' is set to close later this evening, after just over two-and-a-half months of 'wheeling and dealing' between clubs in the Premier, and Football League's.
The window, which opened on Tuesday 9th September, allowed clubs below the Premier League to sign players for a period of between 28 and 93 days, and is seen as a way for larger clubs to offload talent, that are either not quite ready, or not fit enough to make their starting lineups.
Over recent years Walsall have made use of the loan market, signing players such as Florent Cuvelier, Milan Lalkovic, and Karl Darlow along with current first-teamers Sam Mantom and Romaine Sawyers.
Walsall manager Dean Smith has been fairly inactive in the transfer market as of late, with only Leicester City midfielder Michael Cain on loan at the club, and is currently not expected to venture into 'Deadline Day', however with top-scorer Tom Bradshaw and last seasons' 'Player of the Season' Sam Mantom suffering from often lengthy injury spells, it wouldn't be a major surprise to see a last minute deal.
