Walsall Football Club have this afternoon paid tribute to lifelong Saddlers fan Stewart Staples, who sadly passed away during a blaze at a Fireworks Factory in Stafford, last week.
In a statement released via Facebook, the club confirmed; "Walsall Football Club are saddened to hear of the passing of lifelong supporter, Stewart Staples.
"The 57 year-old from Cannock was one of two men killed in a fireworks warehouse blaze in Stafford last week.
"The devoted family man with a wife, three children and a young grandson, had attended Saddlers game since childhood."
Club Secretary, Daniel Mole went on to say; “Everybody at Walsall Football Club would like to express our deepest sadness and offer our condolences to Stewart’s family at this time. To lose a loved one in such tragic circumstances is beyond comprehension. As a mark of respect, an obituary will appear in Saturday’s matchday programme and Stewart’s family have been invited to the fixture as guests of the club.”
