Earlier this afternoon Walsall Football Club's Reserve side played host to Stoke City's Reserves in the opening group game of this season's 'Final Third Development League Cup'.
The match, which took place at Chasetown's 'Scholars Ground', finished all-square at 1-1.
In the first half Stoke's Kieran Monlouis came closest to breaking the deadlock, drawing a fine save from Walsall 'keeper Craig MacGillivray. Monlouis also hit the post with a deflected effort, later in the half.
Early in the second half, injury-returnee Jordan Cook bought a save out of Stoke stopper Dale Eve, who tipped his effort wide of the post.
Walsall took the lead mid-way through the second half thanks to a Liam Kinsella 25-yard strike, which left 'keeper Eve with little chance of saving.
Stoke equalised through young striker Tomi Adeloye, who levelled during the fifth minute of second-half injury time.
