Walsall manager Dean Smith has today spoken to the press ahead of this evening's trip to Greater Manchester to take on Rochdale, and has discussed his hopes of picking up another three points following last weekend's victory over Preston North End.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said: "We spoke on Friday about this being a big week for us. There is a possibility of picking up nine points.
“If you go and get anything near that then all of a sudden it propels you into the upper reaches of the league.
"It’s nice to get the win. We all felt it. We all felt there were some performances that deserved the maximum points and we did not get them.
“Now we have to focus on Rochdale. They are a good team who have picked up some decent wins already.
"I have watched the video of their 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United on Saturday and they were unlucky not to come away with something.”
