Walsall manager Dean Smith met with members of the local the press ahead of tomorrow afternoon's Sky Bet League One clash with Gillingham, and has revealed that despite the Saddlers' poor midweek performance he is unable to make many changes, as the injury crisis continues to bite.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said: “We are limited at the moment. It is the biggest squad I have had because we have a lot of youngsters in there but the biggest injury crisis I have had.
"We are limited in what we can do until we get people out of the treatment room. Would I be looking to make changes under normal circumstances? I'm sure I would, yes.
“As I said at the end of August, we had a lot of games thrown at us in a short space of time with a lot of games thrown at us and we picked up a few fatigue injuries from it. It’s a challenge.”
