Walsall manager Dean Smith has once again spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League One clash with Doncaster Rovers, and has offered a brief injury update.
Following yesterday's Reserves tie with Port Vale which saw full-back Ben Purkiss get his first taste of action since rolling his ankle during the early stages of pre-season, the manager has been handed a further boost with the news that fellow defender James Chambers is fit and back in contention for the weekend.
Both Purkiss and summer signing Jordan Cook are aiming to be fit for the Saddlers' home tie with Bristol City (4th October), whilst last season's 'Player of the Season' Sam Mantom will remain on the sidelines for a while longer.
