Following Saturday afternoon's impressive 3-1 victory over previously unbeaten Preston North End, Walsall manager Dean Smith spoken to the the club's official website, and has hailed his sides positive performance.
Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "It was a well-deserved victory over a strong and powerful team. I asked the players to be on the front-foot and they did just that right from the off.
"We scored some good goals today; we deservedly took the lead but they put us under pressure and got back into the game.
"We spoke at the break about the need for us to be better and, credit to the lads, they came out positively for the second period and got back in front with a really good second goal.
"It was nice then see us go on to see the game out and add another goal to give us a good three points against a side who will be up there challenging this season.
"Now we have to be able to take this on into Tuesday's game at Rochdale."
