Young Walsall Football Club goalkeeper Liam Roberts has once again been allowed to leave the club on loan, in order to gain some much-needed first-team football.
Young Walsall Football Club goalkeeper Liam Roberts has once again been allowed to leave the club on loan, in order to gain some much-needed first-team football.

Following a lack of first-team opportunities, 19-year-old Roberts has been recalled early from his loan spell at local side Rushall Olympic and joined Northern Premier League - Division One (South) side, Rainworth Miners Welfare on loan.

Liam spoke to saddlers.co.uk about today's news, he said; "Training has been going really well here. I feel sharp and as though I am improving with every session. The only thing missing is having a game at the end of it, that will be the next step for me.

"Hopefully this move will allow me to do that because I need a consistent run of games now.

"I've played at this level before, so I know that it's competitive. I'm joining a team that has struggled so far this season, and my aim is to help them improve.

"I know that the Gaffer will be keeping tabs on me, so I just want to be able to show him what I am capable of."
