Walsall manager Dean Smith has today confirmed that Tuesday evening's late-night recruitment of French striker Mathieu Manset signals the end of the club's summer transfer dealings, as the window closes in just four days.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “That’s it in terms of summer dealings unless I dip into the loan market later on after the window closes.
“I have had a number of enquiries ongoing these past few weeks and that is the way it is. You are fighting in a market where other people are after players as well. Normally players go where the most money is being offered.
“You have to be patient. As I have always said, you go in at the end of the season and you have a target list of 10 players, you might end up with numbers nine and ten but you have got to be prepared to do that.”
