Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; "Unfortunately we have six or seven on the treatment table at the moment which is very unusual for us. They are good players and experienced players at that.
"It is a hectic period and when we have seven sitting on the treatment table it is very hard playing four games in 14 days.
"James Chambers is only a grade one hamstring tear so we are hoping it's just a week out for him and Jimmy O'Connor is ok now
"Ben Purkiss as well should be back training in a couple of days and Jordan Cook in a week or two.
"Sam Mantom keeps getting knock-backs. He is back training and he is kicking the ball. Hopefully he will be back as soon as possible.
"It is a big chunk of our players to take out and when they come in I think we can only get better."
