Walsall Football Club manager Dean Smith, and left-back Andy Taylor are today continuing negotiations, after the defenders' original contract expired last night.
Last month Smith confirmed talks were ongoing, telling the Express & Star: “We're still talking and it’s a case of us putting together the financial package that is acceptable to Andy."
It is understood both parties, including the players agent, have today met up at Walsall's Essington Training Ground in the hope of agreeing a new deal.
In other news, today saw Walsall's first-team squad, including Taylor, return to training, as the team continues to build toward the 2014/15 Sky Bet League One season.
