Walsall Football Club manager Dean Smith has today spoken about the two Spanish trialists who have joined the club this week, and has also revealed that an as-yet unnamed Finnish centre-forward is also being given the once-over.
Following the arrival of former Shrewsbury Town striker Tom Bradshaw, and ex-Charlton Athletic front-man Jordan Cook, Walsall have three recognised forwards, including Amadou Bakayoko, a number which Smith is keen to add to.
Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Smith said: "I've got a couple of players coming in from Spain for trials and we are looking at a young Finnish centre-forward at the moment, along with a couple of other trialists.
"I'm not a manager who likes to take players without having seen them first.
"With the Spanish lads, I've watched them play but it's always hard to judge what level they are playing at – it's only when you get them in among your group that you know."
