Walsall Football Club's latest new recruit Jordan Cook has today spoken of his delight at returning to the club which he had a brief loan spell with in 2011, and of the differences with the side this time around.
24 year-old, Sunderland-born Cook is a product of his hometown club's academy, he joined Walsall on a 'Loan Window Deadline Day' deal on 24th March 2011 and went on to make almost ten Saddlers appearances, scoring one-goal before returning to his parent club.
He told saddlers.co.uk; "It’s a club transformed. One of the reasons I wanted to come back is that, since my last spell at the club, I've kept an eye on results and seen how the club has been improving. I wanted to come back and improve on what I did last time.
"Last time it was towards the end of the season and the team were struggling at the foot of the table, trying to avoid relegation. It was a pretty tough time for the club but we managed to squeeze out of it.
"Ever since then I've seen the club improving, improving, and improving. Now it’s established at this level and, hopefully, we can take it forward from here.
"I'm here to score goals and help the team as much as I can. We have a good squad and an excellent manager who wants to improve us all as players and people. I think is the right move for me."
