Earlier this morning the Football League revealed the fixture list ahead of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Football League campaign.The Football League season will kick off on Saturday 9th August with the Premier League beginning a week later on 16th August.
In addition, the Capital One Cup commences during the week of 11th August, and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy begins on or around September 1st.
Walsall begin their League campaign away to Port Vale on 9th August, which is swiftly followed by a trip to face League Two outfit Southend United in the Capital One Cup just a few days later.
Following the promotion of Wolverhampton Wanderers and relegation of Shrewsbury Town the Saddlers are devoid of any truly local rival games, with only Coventry City, who are still sharing Sixfields with Northampton Town, 29th November (A), 3rd January (H), and Port Vale 9th August (A), 14th February (H) within a reasonable distance.
Walsall are at home to Swindon Town on Boxing Day, and finish the campaign away to Bristol City on 2nd May.
The Saddlers face historical rivals Crewe Alexandra on 18th October (H) and 18th April (A).
