25-year-old Brandy, who was released by Sheffield United on Wednesday, was the subject of much speculation regarding a move to several clubs, including Walsall, Portsmouth, Rotherham and others.

Many quarters of the press, including ourselves, had considered the Walsall to be leading the race to sign the versatile wing-man following last season's loan, and Febian's familiarity with the club, however, unfortunately for the Saddlers, Rotherham United have this afternoon confirmed his signing, on what is rumoured to be a two-year deal.

In a statement, released via millers.co.uk, Rotherham confirmed: "Rotherham United’s close season recruitment drive continues to accelerate with Steve Evans adding Febian Brandy to the Millers ranks, subject to Football League clearance.

"Evans moved for the former Manchester United youngster following his release from Sheffield United just 24 hours after completing swoops for Richard Wood, Ryan Hall and Frazer Richardson.

"With the baulk of Evans’ squad due back on Monday for the beginning of pre-season training, the Millers boss has moved quickly to add fresh blood ahead of what is expected to be a tough pre-season examination.

"Brandy, who has represented England from Under 16s to Under 20s, joins the club after finishing the last campaign by impressing on loan at Walsall."
